About the Saga
The Chronicles of the Chosen Undead
This is not just the first fantasy saga freely inspired by the lore of Dark Souls, but it delves deeper: all the main characters share a struggle against the cruel destinies imposed upon them by others.
Rhys battles a curse that compels him to kill to maintain his sanity.
Jude, one of the two Chosen Ones, is fated to become Regent of the White Priestesses of Amaldol, despite her yearning to travel and explore the world.
Krun, shaped by a poor and violent upbringing, is driven by an obsession with success and his military career, forsaking his true love in pursuit of advancement among the Flame Protectors, ending up losing her in the end.
Radamant, despite rising to become an extremely powerful sorcerer, is haunted by the fragility originating from his childhood trauma tied to the death of his older sister, a loss that bound him to her through a promise.
All these contrasts generate great suffering, yet each character reacts differently to it.
The essence of this work revolves around how individuals confront their pain, their inner demons, and the darkest aspects of themselves (leading to the question: do you harbor a dark soul?)
However, the saga does not glorify suffering, rather it celebrates the courage to face it, knowing that the darkness, even that of the soul, is not in itself something negative: without the darkness one would never witness the twinkling of the stars and the dance of fireflies.
It is a reminder that all the darkness of the night cannot snuff out the light of a single candle.
